Port Sunlight invites you to explore its new visitor attraction Sunlight Vision which offers a glimpse into this model village's past - or you could visit the Lady Lever Art Gallery famous for its collections of 18th & 19th century furniture and paintings.
The nearby historic town of Chester is also well worth a visit with its well preserved Roman Heritage, unique shopping in the medieval Rows and Chester Zoo.
Liverpool has a higher number of museums, theatres and galleries than any other UK city region with the exception of London. It is one of the few cities to have two cathedrals - Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral - these are linked together by Hope Street.
The Albert Dock is a Grade 1 listed building with many leisure and retail outlets. You can also visit the Tate Liverpool, alongside the Maritime Museum, with its International Slavery Museum.
In the heart of the city is St George's Hall, one of the finest neoclassical buildings in Europe. In Birkenhead - The Walker Art Gallery covers art from Medieval times to the 21st century. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is world renowned and offers a programme of classical music at its beautiful art deco hall.
